• Email address (used for account creation and login via OTP)
• Display name (chosen by you during registration)
• Profile avatar (selected in-app)
• Movie and TV show watch history, wishlist, and ratings
• App usage data such as genres browsed and content interacted with

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Provide and personalise the MovieScout experience
• Generate "For You" recommendations based on your watch history
• Enable social features such as following friends and sending recommendations
• Sync your data across devices when you are signed in
• Improve the app through aggregated, anonymised analytics

Data Storage

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Local app data is stored on your device using an encrypted local database.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes. Movie data is fetched from The Movie Database (TMDB) API; no personal information is sent to TMDB.

Social Features

If you use social features, your display name, avatar, and the titles you choose to recommend to friends will be visible to those friends. Your watch history and ratings are private by default and not shared with other users.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your watch history

Children's Privacy

MovieScout is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
